Aluminum is very light however it has issues with strength. If you are considering using aluminum as a fencing material for a security system you need to know that it may not be your best choice. In its unfinished state aluminum is a silvery white material. Aluminum can be finished with a smooth highly polished, mirror like finish, or aluminum can have a matte finish. Aluminum fencing materials are typically cast to have an appearance similar to that of wrought iron fences, however, styles based on cold rolled aluminum are also available. Because of the light weight and strength of aluminum fences can be engineered to almost any desired height and when designed properly can be extremely strong. However, it should be stated again that for high end security systems aluminum fences may not offer the security that is desired.
