Galvanized 2-3/8" steel

Pickets
*Premium grade Cedar, or clear upon request. **Clear is available at an additional cost.
Available in 1”x 4” or 1"x 6" flat top or dog ear.
*Premium is defined as the best quality of wood available in the industry at any given time. Texas State Fence Co. uses more than one supplier to insure the wood we install is premium.
Nails
1-7/8" Duo Fast non-corrosive, electro-galvanized glue tipped, ring shank nails
For maximum strength, six nails for each picket on 6' tall fences
For maximum strength, eight nails for each picket on 8' tall fences
Rails
2" x 4" Cedar Rails
Side-by-side
Provides privacy and security, but wood shrinks, leaving cracks. Some visibility through fence.
Board-on-board
Privacy fence. No see through cracks from wood shrinkage.
Pickets overlapped approximately 1-1/2" on each side of picket.
(Some sunlight may occur in gate area & at corners. These are difficult areas to achieve complete coverage).
Gates
Gates are double posts for extra strength.
Standard width is 42" (Larger widths available upon request).
8' fences will have a header over the gate for added strength and include 4 hinges.
6' fences will have 3 hinges on gates.
Gates larger than 42" and double gates can be installed with a metal frame at an additional cost. (Gates of these sizes installed with wood frames are not covered under warranty).
Trim
A 1" x 2" or 1" x 4" picket on the face of the fence to provide a finished top.
Ground board
A 2" x 6" treated board set directly on the ground.
Raises the pickets off the ground 3"-4" to help prevent rot and damage to the bottom of the pickets.
Top cap
A 2" x 6" or 2" x 8" cedar board on top of the fence. (2" x 8" on request & at an additional charge)
Adds strength to fence and gives a nice framed finished look to the top of the fence.
Stain / Sealers
Available pre-dipped before construction of fence or applied after construction of fence.
Permits and Utilities
Texas State Fence Co. follows city and state requirements.
State law requires locating underground utilities before digging.
City permits are also required for all construction.
Texas State Fence Co. will obtain required permits and will contact Dig Tess to mark underground lines. Texas State Fence Co. takes no responsibility for utility or sprinkler lines miss marked or damaged during construction.
Life Expectancy
Wood fence with metal post will last approximately 15-20 years with proper maintenance.
